Nice. I've been wondering about markers and if the good ones were REALLY as good as they're supposed to be. I think I saw someone using a type of prismas in my art class and it wasn't that great. or maybe I was just pissed off that the sharpie like markers I used were dried out from abuse and bled all over my regluar paper.
so really there isn't too much to getting it to look awsome, huh? yay.

Your turn doctor, tell me... what do you see?
*nods* I was like that too at first - "wtf, these markers are like $5 each! what makes them better than those cherry scented ones I used in grade 2?"
But yeah - with some good paper and good markers, it's easy to get good results. It didn't take me very long to get decent at using them - but I think once I got marker paper, there was serious improvement (no bleeding and huge blotches everywehre) Kinda looks photoshoped cel style, and takes like half the time.
Prismacolour ones are super stinky! I think they rival those sharpies.... *dies from the fumes*
very helpful ^^ Good job =D

Eek. The mailman knows where you live, you know. O__O;
i'm not very good at picking out the dark colors ^^; is it okay to just layer over and over again for everything?

yeah, you can layer probably at least a dozen times - ^____^;
hehehe... thats what I did when all I had was 12 markers.

I think: [link] this drawing I did - the dark clothing was like half a dozen layers of french grey.... ^____^;
I've heard other people say that people should just buy the lightest colours, and only use those. You could also just buy like a mid tone grey, and only use it for shadows.
Thanx, I'm glad the tutorial is helpful!
^///^
Now it's time for me to buy Copic markers. ;)

hmmmm I'd either go for the prismacolour set, or a letraset promarker set. I found the "comic/manga" promarker set to be really good (comes with some marker paper and an ink pen), but you'd probably want at least another "primary colour" set to go with it. The comic set is good because it comes with lots of skin tones.
the 48 prismacolour set will probably keep you very happy for a long time, you could manage with a 24 set though. After awhile, just buy colours in singles - because you'll know what colours you like to use the most.
The only thing with prismacolour is the smell... it's very smelly! Like a sharpie marker smell.
so i'll get headaches/highs when using them X_x great
okay so like get the 48 set then once the run out just buy them singularly?
and letraset? never heard of it but i'll keep an eye out for it
